Motorola Moto G84 Launched With 120Hz OLED and 50MP OIS Camera

Motorola officially announced the Moto G84, starting with India, after teasing it for a week. Despite having a rather ancient chipset, it nevertheless provides an excellent set of specs for the money.

Design and Presentation

The display on the front is a 6.55-inch, 10-bit OLED with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz. The maximum brightness promised by Motorola for this screen is 1,300 nits.

Motorola has unveiled a phone with a simulated leather surface in the Pantone-inspired color Viva Magenta as part of its ongoing partnership. Those looking for a unique appeal can also choose from a Marshmallow Blue variant that also uses “vegan leather” (which is really just a polished PVC coating). The Midnight Blue version is now offered for individuals who want a more modest style.

Inside and Software

256 GB of storage and 12 GB of RAM are the only options that may be used with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 CPU that powers this phone. A microSD card allows for storage expansion.

The Moto G84 comes pre-installed with Android 13 and promises a smooth user experience. Motorola also pledges to deliver Android 14 and three years of security upgrades.

Cameras

The three cameras on the Moto G82 are not present on the rear, which is where the camera layout is different. The main camera has a 50 MP 1/1.5″ sensor with 1.0 m pixels and an f/1.88 lens. Dual Pixel Autofocus (PDAF) and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) are both features of this camera. A 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a field of view of 118 degrees is located next to it, although it is autofocus-incapable.

Both cameras allow 4K video recording at 30 frames per second and have Auto Night Vision technology to improve image quality in low light.

The 16 MP selfie camera, which has an f/2.45 aperture, is located in a single punch hole in the center of the design.

Battery and Price

With a powerful 5,000 mAh battery, the Moto G84 offers the convenience of 30W fast charging, and Motorola thoughtfully includes the necessary adapter in the retail package.

In India, the Motorola Moto G84 sells for $245.
